this is my trial run on the blog....hard to believe we are in Nome, Alaska again. Things have sure changed here in 25 1/2 years! It's fun to see a few folks we still know here, and get to some of our favorite spots. The weather has been absolutely unbelievable - sunny and around 70 every day. Our summer in Soldotna was mostly 50's and 60's and rainy. -I understand it was that was here, too, until this week. It's fun to show Laura and Gow everything. Some things have changed tons, and somethings are just the same. We think it is very much greener than it ever was with lots of grass, trees, and flowers., but it also has another 25 years of junk that has been "brought in and never left" :) Laura has a few memories and seems to love the beach most. I was thrilled to get to pick some blueberries, and Dad and Gow have both caught salmon.

Way to go mom! Laura just sent the link to your blog. Very nice! Are you alive and well in Colorado?
Wow ... now we have two generations of DeVries in the blogosphere. Congratulations! One word of advice have I to offer you ... you probably want to keep your labels short and more general. They are most commonly used to group posts at a later date ... like if I wanted to see all the Alaska posts, or all the volunteering posts or something. So a suggestion for this post might be something like this ... "Alaska, family". Let me know if you have questions, you can always change them later if you want to.
