Hello all, Here's a pix we took yesterday....
We are experiencing "summer" like the rest of the country. -over 80 both yesterday and today. In fact it has been gorgeous all week.
I am feeling extremely grateful for God's amazing blessings to me. With friends around that have lost their spouse, are suffering with cancer, or have many "family " problems we thank God for these great days of "retirement adventure together, our good health, and such a wonderful family. We hear of the extreme persecution/genocide of Christians in India theses days, and wonder that we are so privileged to live in the USA.
Speaking of good health, I am thankful to report that I have hardly coughed at all these past few days. -big blessing. The bronchoscopy went well on Monday, and tho they have not completed all the tests, nothing new was found at this point. I do have an appointment to see a throat specialist Dec. 1. I am glad to be done with the predisone and that it was helpful.
It was fun to go to Emma's last soccer game on Thursday...we decided it was perhaps the beginning of looong years ahead of enjoying our grandkids' games/concerts,etc.
Now we are excited to be looking forward to a fun trip...here's the plan:
leave Thursday,16th, stopping to have breakfast in Wheaton with our old JBU friends, Russ and MaryAnn Miller, who happen to be passing through. Then on to Kansas City that night to Larsens. Friday we will all go to the cabin, then on Saturday we will go on to Branson to meet Al and Diane at their time share. On Sunday we have tickets to see "the Ozark Mtn. Jubilee"!
then on Monday John and Diane head back to KC, and we will stay an extra day with Al's.
Tuesday,21, we will drive to Iowa where we will get some time with Jane, and stay at TLCC's new Haven 23 while Dad is of some business help t0 Scott, the director, and we'll volunteer with odd jobs Wed.-Fri.. On Saturday we will drive on home to WI.
We plan to take our computer and will have our cell phone.
Dad helped the maintenance bunch at C Harbor a little this week. I guess the only other news is that Neal talked me into trying the elec. bass with the praise team, and it was fun and pretty easy, so I actually played with them this morning. (no, I didn't wear black and put a pink streak in my hair...thought of hiding behind sunglasses, tho. :)
We hope to get to Casparis before we head off this week. Thanks for all your blogs. We love you!
