Beautiful Weather

We had amazing weather this week. It was in the 70's with lots of sunshine. Dad enjoyed all the variety of his jobs. One day he headed up a team of 32 graduating HS seniors who stopped here on their senior trip to volunteer for a couple of days. (Christian HS from Yakima). They were hard workers and got an amazing amount of work done. I got to help out with a big mailing, and the best part was that we worked in a meeting room right on the beach...was so beautiful and I even watched a huge flock of pelicans out there that day. One of the days I folded again in the laundry room, and secretly made a huge "happy birthday Rebecca" sign and put it up , complete with balloons to greet my "boss" there.

The best part of the week was the visit of Dianne and Davis Nichols from Seattle. They arrived Friday aft. so we took off a little early. We ate in some fun places while they were here...a seafood place on the beach, a place called the "lumberyard" ( I think that is what it used to be), and Pig 'N Pancake, plus had a wonderful picnic at a beautiful spot up on the bluff at Ecola State Park on Saturday. We explored several places -"Hug point" had caves and waterfalls, and we walked the beach a lot. They have a heavy load with their severely bipolar daughter (Jennifer)-do pray for them and her. We visited the Presbyterian church again this morn before they headed home.
We are feeling a lot more a part of things having been here longer, and appreciate getting to know the other volunteers more and more. The morning devotions together are epecially meaningful.

Well, we want to get out to the beach one more time before this beautiful weather weekend ends, so I will send this on its way. We love you all so much. It seems this is a time when we all need a refresher course in Romans 8:28 and Proverbs 3:5,6. -praying for each of you, love, Mom
